This Sufficient For Me blog was written by Surprise Gift Co/Shannon
How many times have I prayed this prayer? "Lord let your grace be sufficient for me," When I'm going through a hard time this can be my go to. But in my devotion today I read a message from someone who prayed that very prayer and was met with a rebuke from the Lord! How dare you ask that which has already been given! Well that really shook me up! She goes on to say God cannot make it anymore sufficient than he already has made it. Get up and believe it and you will find it to be true! Just because our eyes are downcast or our mind is in turmoil, it doesn't mean God's mercy doesn't still abound in every situation of our life! He says it in the simplest way, 2 Corinthians 12:9 "My grace IS sufficient for thee" not shall be or may be. It is. The devotion went on to make itself forever etched into my heart by reminding me to never turn Gods facts into hopes or prayers, but simply use them as the realities that they are, then we will find them powerful as they are. And there at the bottom of the page was this little poem in King James dialect that just put the cherry on top for me:
"He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater. He sendeth more strength when the labors increase. To added affliction, he addeth his mercies. To multiplied trials, his multiplied peace.
When we have exhausted our store of endurance. When our strength has failed, ere the day is half done. When we reach the end of our hoarded resources. Our fathers full giving is only begun.
His love has no limit, his grace has no measure. His power no boundary known unto man. For out of his infinite riches in Jesus He giveth and giveth and giveth again." By Annie Johnson Flint
Man, some days I just really need to hear that! Maybe you do too.
